About an hour later all the Senior groups were called to the stage. The younger dancers had gotten their awards and now it was time for us. We all went out and sat on stage. There were 7 senior groups. "For 3rd place in the Senior division... number 13, Cold Heart." The announcer said into the microphone. The audience clapped as the rest of the awards were handed out. Then the time came to see who won the competition. The crowd and stage fell silent. The moments of suspense were killing me. "And the winner of the 2000 Indigo dance competition is......Dance Canvas studio with Bittersweet Symphony!!" the announcer practically yelled. The audience jumped to their feet and cheered and whistled. We stood up and excepted our trophy. It was the best day ever. Blue and gold confetti popped over our heads. When we left the stage we were over excited. We were through the roof! Our trophy now stands in the trophy case at our dance studio. The gold base gleams in the light. But it didn't end there. We left the competition and after we had a huge party to celebrate. We left Burlington to go back to Springfield. About 2 weeks after the competition we got a letter in the mail.
"What is it?" Christian asked. I had a slight suspicion... Mom opened the letter and read:
"We are happy to inform you that your daughter, Hannah Lee has been excepted to join our college of dance when she graduates from high school. We will meet at a scheduled time to sort out all the details and sign a letter of intent and some other forms. We are excited for Hannah to join our program. Sincerely, the board of The College of Ballet in Vermont."
I couldn't believe it! I called Liliana straight away. She was happy for me. I knew she was a little upset that she wasn't picked but I know she was truly excited for me.
A few days later something that will probably make our lives so much better happened at school.
We were going about our usual school day when Victoria walked up to Me and Liliana.
"Hi girls." She said
"Hi Icky Vicky." replied Liliana rolling her eyes.
"Please just listen, I have something important to say." She told us
"Yeah Lil, lets here what she has to say," I said (not in a sarcastic voice)
"I realized that I've been a jerk for the past few years but I want to be friends and not fight all the time," she said. We took a moment to think. Think about what we really wanted.
"I hate fighting to. I think we should get to know each other a little more and we could become friends." Liliana replied.
"Me too. Lets make a deal, we hang out together for a while and see where that takes us, " I added. So we all walked to the cafeteria and had lunch together.
In the end I learned many lessons and Victoria,Liliana, and I have stayed friends for along time. little did I know I would face many more challenges at The College of Ballet in Vermont (also know as: TCBV)
