Liliana helped me pick a few more outfits out. Then we packed my backpack with things to do in the car.
We put in Uno, A zen tangle coloring book, a movie to watch on the laptop, along with a headphone splitter so we could both watch. We also packed a pillow each and some snacks. We had dinner then got ready for bed.
The next morning everyone got ready and helped Mom and Dad to pack the car. We had oatmeal and hot cocoa for breakfast.
“Mrs. Lee, how long is the car ride to the hotel?” Liliana asked my mother.
“ A little under 2 hours,” she answered back.
“OK,” Liliana and I said in unison
We all piled into the car and started driving. We dropped Buster off at my grandparents' house. Let the journey begin!
About 45 minutes into the car ride Christian and Mom both had to go to the bathroom. We stopped at the nearest rest stop. We all stretched our legs and did our business. Christian got a sprite and cheez-its from the vending machine, Mom and Dad got a cracker pack and Liliana and I got lemonade and had the goldfish we packed at home. We got going again and later we saw the sign that said:
WELCOME TO BURLINGTON, VERMONT!
“We’re here!” Called dad from the driver’s seat. We all took off our headphones and looked out the window. I saw the trees surrounding Lake Champlain. It was so beautiful in Burlington. We pulled up in the parking lot of the hotel we stayed in. It was amazing. Most of the time when we traveled we stayed with relatives. We got a tall looking cart and put our luggage on it. We got settled into our rooms and put our things away.
