On Monday, when Liliana and I got to school everyone crowded around me. Multiple people offered to carry my stuff and do this or do that for me. I told them I was fine and just needed to get to my locker. Everyone kind of filtered away from me.
Then Victoria, our enemy since 3rd grade walked up to Liliana and my lockers.
“Sup losers? Heard you broke your ankle. Clumsy Hannah is back at it again,” she said sourly.
“Go away Icky Vicky,” I threw back at her.
“What are you gonna do about it?” she asked in a super annoying voice. She flipped her black hair as she turned around and walked away.
“She is such a spoiled brat!” said Liliana. We grabbed our biology books and headed to class.
In biology I secretly passed a note to Liliana. Here's what I wrote:
H: Ugh this is so boring. I’m ready to go home.
L: Same. But did you see Will? He looks so good.
H: I know right? Oops Mr. G’s looking over here.
L: oh ok.
*RING* *RING* That was the bell, it was time for P.E.
As soon as our P.E. Teacher,Mrs. Long, saw my crutches and cast she sent me to the nurses office and told me to stay there until my next class. I was glad because we were doing a super boring unit about nutrition. When school was finally over, it was time for the next challenge: the school bus.
I remember when Tommy Burke broke his leg, everyone called him names and a bunch of juniors tried to trip him. His best buddy Jim helped him though. I sure hoped Liliana had my back, or, should I say, had my ankle. Yeah that was too much..
When we got to the bus Icky Vicky was already there with her group of suck-ups.
In fourth grade Victoria moved away for middle school, but she came back our freshman year and has made sure to suck all the fun out of it.
One of Victoria’s minions (that’s what Liliana and I call them.) called out
“Look it’s Clumsy..um...clumsy humsy!”
“Sit down Chrisy!”
Chrisy and the rest of the minions are not the brightest.
Liliana and I took our seat. It took forever to figure out the right position to sit. My crutches took up a lot of room. At one point someone tried to snatch one of my crutches.Turns out Liliana did have my back. There was like no leg room on our bus.
