“Let’s find a place to eat lunch,” Mom suggested. We looked in the binders in our rooms. Everyone suggested things and we finally settled on a nice cafe.
When we got there a waitress seated us and we ordered waters all around. We looked over the menu.
“There are so many options!” Christian exclaimed. I decided to get waffles with strawberries on top and a side of sunny side up eggs. Christian and dad got the same thing, the pancake town. It had strawberries, blueberries, syrup, bacon and lots of other yummy toppings. Mom got a veggie omelet and sausages. Liliana got waffles with whipped cream and a side of hash browns. When our food was served we dug in.
“Mine is scrumptious! How ‘bout yours?” Mom asked everyone.
“Delicious!” “Tasty!” “Warm,” we all said in a jumble.
At 2:00 we met the rest of the dancers at the lake. There are 10 girls in total in our class. Liliana, Victoria, Chrisy, Teagen, Ella, Sam, Katie, Lucy, Frances, and me, Hannah. Mrs. Meredith took role and everyone went into a studio that we rented for 1 hour that afternoon. We went over the dance and learn the music. Everyone was helping me but I did need to take a few breaks. I hoped I could do great at the competition.
At the end of the class our parents came to pick us up. “Be sure to get some rest for tomorrow!” Mrs. Meredith called after us as we left.
When we got back to the hotel Liliana and I flopped down on our beds. We decided to take a small nap. I closed the curtains and Liliana closed the extension door to my parents room. Christian said he’d hang out in Mom and Dad’s room while we slept. He’d learned that we work really hard in class and that makes us very tired. He’d gotten used to it.
I awoke to my whole body being shaken. I rolled over to see Liliana, tears filling her eyes.
“I had a dream about the ‘incident’ from yesterday,”
“Oh Liliana it’s OK, you don’t need to worry about it,” I said, trying to comfort her.
We re-made our beds then went into my parents room. Mom was laying in bed reading and dad was sitting at the desk doing something. Christian jumped out from behind the big plant and scared us.
“BOO!!!” he yelled
“AHHHHH!!” we screamed!
“Christian! That was not funny!” I told him. He just laughed and sat down on the edge of the bed.
“Would you like to play a game of UNO?” Liliana asked everyone.
“I’d like to,” answered dad.
“Sure” Mom and Christian said at the same time.
We dealt out all the cards and started playing. Mom was a little confused on how to play so she was on my team.
At the end of the end of the game Dad had gotten 1st place, Liliana got 2nd, Mom and I got 3rd and Christian got last :(
